Amid concerns over possible activities surrounding the 77th founding anniversary of the Awami League, whose political activities remain banned, leaders and activists of the Volunteer Party (Swechchhasebak Dal) took up positions in the Islampur area along the Dhaka–Aricha Highway in Dhamrai, Dhaka.
The presence was organized as a precautionary measure in response to reports and concerns about potential attempts to carry out political activities in the area. Party leaders stated that they remained vigilant to ensure peace, stability, and public order.
Among those present was Nazmul Hasan Obhe, Convener of the Dhaka District Volunteer Party and former General Secretary of Jahangirnagar University Chhatra Dal. He was accompanied by local leaders and activists who gathered in the area to monitor the situation.
Speaking on the occasion, party representatives emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order and called upon all citizens to remain peaceful and avoid any actions that could create unrest. They also expressed their commitment to supporting efforts aimed at preserving stability and security in the region.
Local residents observed the developments throughout the day, while traffic movement on the Dhaka–Aricha Highway remained largely normal. No major incidents were reported during the period of the gathering.
Political observers note that security and political vigilance often increase around significant political anniversaries and events, particularly when concerns exist regarding unauthorized activities or public disorder.
The Volunteer Party leaders reiterated that they would continue to remain alert and cooperate with relevant authorities to ensure a peaceful environment for residents of Dhamrai and surrounding areas.
